Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell is a Washington D.C.-based American TV journalist, anchor and anchor and. Mitchell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a master's degree from the department of English literature. Mitchell was recruited as a reporter by KYW Radio and TV Philadelphia in 1967. She became a reporter for the CBS-affiliated WDVM-TV, (then WTOP) and was stationed situated in Washington DC. A few years later, she was a general correspondent at NBC News in Washington. In 1980, she began covering the White House. 1988 became the chief congressional journalist. Mitchell was named as the head White House correspondent by NBC News in the year 1992. Mitchell has appeared as the host and panelist for the TV news program Meet the Press. Mitchell was a part of the panel at 1988 Presidential Debates between George Bush, and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married with Alan Greenspan, former Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell received in 2005 the Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism for The John F. Kennedy School of Government. In 2004, Radio-Television News Directors Association, (RTNDA) was honoured Mitchell for her contribution in defending First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell covered the White House first for NBC News between the years 1981-88, which was in the two years that Ronald Reagan served as president. Mitchell covered a number of noteworthy news stories throughout time, including the tax reforms, budget reforms as well as The Iran Contra affair. She travelled frequently together with Reagan as well as Mikhail Gorbachev to world summits.
